NeXTstation in a high-end workstation computer developed, manufactured and sold by NeXT from 1990 until 1993. NeXT Inc. Was founded by Steve Jobs after he left Apple in 1985

The NeXTstation is meant as an affordable alternative to the NeXTcube, released at the same year. The NeXTcube is the much improved successor of the original NeXT Computer, in the same outer case.

Several models were produced, including the NeXTstation (25 MHz), NeXTstation Turbo (33 MHz), NeXTstation Color (25 MHz) and NeXtstation Turbo Color (33 MHz).

In total, NeXT sold about 50,00 computers (not including sales to goverment organizations), making it one of the rarest computers today.

The operating system NeXTSTEP is a graphical multitasking OS based on Unix. The current MacOS is NeXTSTEP evolved and renamed.
