NeXT
NeXT, Inc. (later NeXT Computer, Inc. and NeXT Software, Inc.) was an American computer and software company. Founded in 1985 by Apple Computers founder Steve Jobs. The company developed and produced computers for higher education and businesses. Their first computer was launched in 1988, followed by the second one in 1990. After that the company focussed on software development only for their operating system NeXTSTEP. Eventually Apple bought the company for this system, which became Mac OS X. Until today you can still find pieces of NeXTSTEP in the latest Mac OS X. NeXT was also pioneering with object oriented programming.
