Magnavox
Magnavox was an American electronics company with a rich history dating back to its founding in the early 20th century. The origins of Magnavox trace back to 1911, with the establishment of the Commercial Wireless and Development Co. in Napa, California.
Over the years, Magnavox developed into a significant player in the electronics sector. In 1948, the company built its first television, the MV 10, which was intended as a modular device or as a complement to radio-record player combinations.
In 1974, Magnavox was acquired by North American Philips, a branch of the Dutch electronics company Philips. This acquisition marked a significant moment in the company’s history, as it was then integrated into a larger international technology company.
Throughout its existence, Magnavox delivered numerous innovations and contributed to developments in consumer electronics, which are still evident in the products and brand name that continue under Philips.
